Barbara Gueldner, PhD, MSE is a licensed psychologist (Colorado), a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and endorsed as an IMH-E® Infant Mental Health Specialist. Over the course of her career, she has served in many roles: clinician, researcher, educator, consultant, and child and family community advocate and has worked in schools, medical settings, higher education, and private practice. She earned a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and PhD in School Psychology from the University of Oregon.

Dr. Gueldner’s work has focused on understanding, implementing, and innovating ways in which children’s social and emotional development can be optimized in schools, homes, and pediatric primary care through universal through tertiary approaches. She has published in the areas of social and emotional learning (SEL), resilience promotion, mindfulness-based interventions, anxiety and depression, and suicide prevention. In addition to co-authoring publications via peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, she co-authored two editions of a social and emotional learning curriculum (Merrell’s Strong Kids and Merrell’s Strong Teens, 2007 and 2016; Paul H. Brookes Publishing), and two editions of Social and Emotional Learning in the Classroom, 2010 and 2020, Guilford Press.

Dr. Gueldner has been a long-time participant in her community through volunteering, advocacy, education, and board and committee membership. In 2009, Dr. Gueldner received the Resident Excellency Award at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
